This Privacy Policy explains how Data Skill Range collects, uses, stores, and shares information when you use our website and services. We designed the platform for practical learning about data and AI in workplace settings.
Data Skill Range is an independent educational platform. It is not affiliated with, sponsored by, approved by, or endorsed by the U.S. Department of War, U.S. Department of Defense, U.S. Army, any military command, or any government agency.
Information We Collect
Account information
When you create an account, we collect your email address, authentication credentials (stored by our authentication provider), and optional profile details such as display name, username, bio, and avatar URL.
Usage and learning progress
When you are signed in, we may record course progress, quiz attempts, lesson completion, and similar learning activity needed to provide progress tracking and improve educational content.
Support and contact submissions
If you contact us or open a support ticket, we collect the information you provide, such as name, email, subject, message content, and optional organization details.
AI feature submissions
When you use AI-assisted features such as sample coaching, the text you submit is sent to our servers and may be forwarded to an AI provider for processing. Do not submit classified, controlled, confidential, operational, proprietary, or private personal information.
First-party analytics
We use first-party analytics to understand how public pages and learning content are used. This may include page events, session identifiers stored in your browser session, and course interaction events for signed-in users. We do not use third-party advertising cookies.
Technical data
Our hosting and security systems may process IP addresses, browser type, device information, and request logs needed to deliver the Service, prevent abuse, and maintain reliability.

AI Processing
AI provider API keys are stored server-side. We send only the content required for the feature you invoke. We do not include unrelated account profile data in AI requests unless a feature explicitly requires it.
AI providers may retain submitted content according to their own policies and our configuration. We apply session limits, rate limits, and input validation on public AI features. We do not send AI submissions to third-party analytics tools.
Administrative AI drafting tools are available only to authorized staff and operate on content being edited in the admin workspace.
Retention
We retain account and learning data while your account is active and for a reasonable period afterward unless deletion is requested or required by law. Support tickets, contact inquiries, audit logs, and analytics events are retained according to operational needs and documented internal schedules.
AI coaching sessions and related server logs are retained for limited periods to operate the feature, prevent abuse, and improve reliability.
Your Choices and Rights
You may update profile information in account settings, opt out of optional email updates, and request access to or deletion of your information by contacting contact@dataskillrange.com.
Some deletion actions require manual review today. Account settings describe which controls are self-service and which require a privacy request.
Security
We use administrative, technical, and organizational measures including access controls, encryption in transit, role-based permissions, and database row-level security. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure.
Children
The Service is not directed to children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.
International Users
If you access the Service from outside the United States, your information may be processed in the United States and other locations where our providers operate.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will revise the effective date and last updated date when we publish changes. Material changes may require renewed acceptance for account features.
